Warhol-Floral

I set out to create a floral design, possibly for Kayla Shevonne's nail art contest, but I wanted something bold and graphic rather than, well, flowery. To that end, I chose this set of Marilyn Monroes by Andy Warhol as my colour-palette inspiration.

The colours I used for the flowers themselves are mostly blends of multiple polishes, but the background colours are Orly Lucky Duck, OPI Mermaid's Tears, China Glaze Laced Up, and Julep Niecy. I think I would try a different flower style next time, perhaps one with petals made up just of many brushstrokes, but I really like the colour combinations.
