Just a couple quick swatches for you tonight! I've mentioned repeatedly that I love these little Essence polishes - perfect size, awesome price. And a great opportunity to try out finishes or colours you don't really go for! I, for one, am not crazy about duochromes, nor do I usually go for nudes. But $1.49 is a great reason to branch out, for sure.
First up is Essence Nude It, a basic nude shade that looks alright with my skin tone.
Nothing awe-inspiring, but totally fine. The formula was good and easy, this was two coats with topcoat and almost no cleanup was needed. Am I satisfied for the price? Yeah, sure. Would I be irritated with myself if I spent $10 on this? Absolutely - so good thing I spent a fraction of that! It will be a good basic to have around.
Next is Essence Where Is The Party?, a member of the duochrome family I've seen described as "oil slick".
I was having trouble getting that duo-chrome effect to show, in person or in photos. I didn't put any topcoat on as I wasn't sold on it from the beginning, so that might have helped. Nothing wrong with this, and this kind of thing appeals to lots of people; it only seemed fair to give it a shot! Still don't think duos are for me, but I hope to try one of the Peridot dupes sometime soon, and I hear that stuff will convert anyone!
Any duochrome or nude lovers that want to advocate for their favourites? I'd love to hear about 'em!
