Welcome to the first day of the challenge! This one will be much more reasonable - only two days a week! I'm going to be doing Wednesday and Friday. Also, quick reminder that my Floam giveaway is ending in a few days. I appreciate all of my followers so much, so please do remember to stop by here and enter for your chance to win!
The first theme is Grill Master, as in outdoor barbecue fun! A highlight of the summer, if you live in the sort of place that allows you to have a barbecue. I don't, but maybe when I go home next week there will be some grilling happening!
I wanted to capture the glowing charcoal at the core of the BBQ
process, which ended up being a bit trickier than I'd anticipated...
I varied each nail a bit, resulting in what I've decided to call Grill Skittles, or Grittles... No? Doesn't work? Okay, fine.
The index and pinkie used a base of China Glaze Smoke and Ashes, while the other two used Julep Kim. On the middle finger I used a dotting tool to apply Smoke and Ashes "charcoals," while on the index and ring I freehanded outlines in the reverse colour of the base. The glowing-fire highlights are China Glaze Riveting, and for the pinkie flames I used Julep Ashley and Nessa as well as Riveting.
We were also having photography issues this week, which led to some changes in the photo style. I think I like them, though!
